FOP and FOPA make holidays merry and bright for nearly 350 Meade County kids
The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #67 and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of FOP Lodge #67 are already in the Christmas spirit. On Dec. 4, they took delivery of a truckload of gifts from Toys for Tots which will be distributed to Meade County children through the Angel Tree program. The other aspect of their effort is a Shop with Cops day scheduled for Dec. 9. Funds raised through an annual roadblock and solicitation of donations from area businesses and individuals make this annual event, now in its sixth year, possible. “These folks make the Shop with Cops a success every year,” said Larry Singleton. “We couldn’t do it without them.” All funds raised are spent on Meade County children who will shop with cops in Meade County stores – Cox’s Variety & Garden Center and Pamida. Between these two events, the FOP and FOPA will help nearly 350 kids have a merry Christmas.
