The role of the property valuation administrator
Depending on how you look at it, the property valuation administrator could be viewed as both a county and state employee. For all practical purposes, he is a county officer, since his election by county voters makes him amenable to local control. However, in 1988, the General Assembly added language to KRS expressly providing that “property valuation administrators shall be state officials.” So, yes, the property valuation administrator is actually employed by and reports to Frankfort, falling under the commonwealth of Kentucky’s Department of Property Valuation – Division of Finance Cabinet.
Muldraugh beefs up police patrol in response to vandalism, theft and speeding
During the business portion of Muldraugh’s monthly city council meeting, police chief Bill Wood reported vehicles are running better, but he believes provisions need to be made to replace some of the vehicles in the near future since they all have high mileage. Mayor Tate said he had been in contact with the Meade County sheriff and the Brandenburg Police chief about buying vehicles they are getting ready to surplus.
Fiscal Court confronted with final settlement and county attorney controversy
Meade County Judge Executive Harry Craycroft convened the regularly scheduled monthly business meeting of the Meade County Fiscal Court March 13 with a very easy looking 13-item agenda and five magistrates in attendance. Magistrate Staples was ill and couldn’t attend.

During an hour-long public session at Muldraugh City Council’s March 12 monthly meeting, Muldraugh landlords expressed their displeasure about assuming utility bills left unpaid by their tenants.

The Meade County Board of Elections met March 12 with members Bruce Williams, Rosemarie Folden, Meade County Sheriff Butch Kerrick and Meade County Clerk Katrina Fitzgerald in attendance.
Brandenburg City Council conducts business meeting
Mayor David Pace convened the regular monthly business meeting of the Brandenburg City Council with a full agenda on March 12. All members of the council were present except Ronnie Joyner, who arrived near the end of the meeting because of work considerations.
