Dave Roever keeps his promise

Who inspires a group of high school students to laughter, tears, nearly a dozen outbursts of spontaneous applause and three standing ovations in little more than one hour? Dave Roever, that’s who, Promise Keeper, internationally known speaker and combat wounded veteran.


EMS’s ‘Andy the Ambulance’ a big hit with Meade County youngsters

Meade County EMS paramedics Chris and Karen Hulsey, who are also husband and wife, got the idea that more programs were needed in the local schools and daycares that would help educate Meade County children about safety and emergency services.


MCFPD discusses fiscal year budget

The Meade County Fire Protection District board of trustees met March 19.

Treasurer James Anthony reported balances of $61,693.31 at First Federal and $40,191.01 at Meade County Bank. Anthony advised the board he will present numbers in a slightly different way to provide a more accurate year-to-date forecast with regard to budget spending. Trustee Bruno Ilario noted two line items in the budget were significantly over budget. Anthony said this is a matter of ensuring the correct line items and definitions are used, and he is working on this issue.


Ekron City Commissioners receive duties

The Ekron City Commission met in February and March to discuss a variety of issues pertaining to the residents of Ekron.


The history and services of Meade County EMS

Meade County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) began in November 1976, when the county recognized the strong need for better medical services for people requiring emergency care and/or transportation to area hospitals.


Meade County PZ denies request

The Meade County Planning and Zoning Commission met March 15 with two rezoning requests on the agenda.
