The Meade County-Brandenburg Industrial Development Authority welcomed members of Fiscal Court and the Riverport Authority to its April 20 meeting. Judge Executive Harry Craycroft and Magistrates Herbie Chism and Tony Staples attended, along with Riverport Commissioners Don Bewley, Edd Pike and Joe Wright.
Four Oaks buffer committee meeting
The newly-formed Four Oaks buffer committee held a meeting April 16 at Brandenburg City Hall to address concerns of Four Oaks residents and evaluate the policy regarding buffer zones.
MCFPD reviews three-year budget
The Meade County Fire Protection District board of trustees held its regular meeting April 16. Following roll call and approval of the previous minutes, treasurer James Anthony presented his report. The district’s current liquid assets total $47,469.86 in checking and $41,245.99 in savings. Receivable taxes are $2,140.60 for a total in current liquid assets of $90,856.45. Anthony noted the district is about 40 percent under budget with three months left in the fiscal year.
Weldon Christian Church announces ground breaking
The members of Weldon Christian church invite friends, family and fellow residents of the community to the ground breaking ceremony for their fellowship hall to be built at 1595 Christian Church Road, Brandenburg.
