Vicious pit bull attack brings to light other county animal issues
Chico the chihuahua is dead and the pit bull that ended its life is behind bars in the Meade County Animal Shelter.
Theresa Cutting, a Flaherty resident, said she was watching dogs for a friend when Chico started squealing, as if in panic.
Fiscal Court debates county code enforcement officer’s gun
Debate on whether county code enforcement officer Hank Schaffner should carry a gun while performing his duties dominated a two-hour meeting of the Meade County Fiscal Court Sept. 17.
Fiscal Court finalizes tax rate on 6-1 vote, keeps amount steady
On a 6-1 vote, with Magistrate Herbie Chism casting the lone dissenting vote, the county’s tax rate was established for the 2007 year.
