200-year-plus poplar tree logged

A large yellow poplar tree was timbered late last week by crews from R&J Timber, according to firm co-owner Rick Barr.

Georgia Karr, a 7th-grade student at Stuart Pepper Middle School, has taken the first step to becoming an internationally recognized artist by winning a local competition sponsored by the North Hardin Lions Club.
