Homecoming royalty

Royalty abounded at Meade County High School Feb. 1 when the homecoming king and queen were crowned between the junior varsity and varsity games against Breckinridge County. Ruby Bowers, representing the varsity cheerleaders, was crowned queen, and J.L. Cannady, representing the Pep Club, was crowned king. A senior, Ruby is a member of the cheerleading squad, Pep Club, FCA, Youth In Charge and Drama Club. She is the daughter of Patricia and Dickey Bowers, Flaherty. JL, also a senior, is an active member of the Greenwave football team, Pep Club, FCA, Youth In Charge, and a TLC leader. He is the son of Jeff and Leona Cannady, Brandenburg.
Cassandra Bennett, representing the senior class, was crowned homecoming princess. She is an active member of Pep Club, FBLA, was voted Miss MCHS and is a co-op student in the MCHS office. She is the daughter of Bruce and Cathy Bennett, Brandenburg. J.J. Mote, representing the Drama Club, was crowned homecoming prince. Also a senior, he is an active member of the concert and marching band, Tri-m, the academic team and Drama Club. He is the son of James and Rebecca Mote, Flaherty.
Crown bearer Trace Hardesty and flower girl Cara Miller. Cara is the daughter of Rob and Michele Miller, Brandenburg; Trace is the son of Jamie and Jessica Hardesty, Guston.
