MCHS does well at state championships

Since ancient times, men have done battle in sport to the cheers and adoration of spectators. A carnival atmosphere permeates the scene of battle; the air is heavy with the anxiety of the participants, the cheering of the spectators, the hawking of wares of various vendors, and the gaunt determination of coaches.

Lady Waves triumph in regional match-up

With only three games left before the district tournament, the Meade County Lady Waves looked to prime themselves against a struggling Muhlenberg South Lady Suns team. At 1-23, Muhlenberg South High School looks like an easy tune-up for the Lady Waves, but the Lady Suns played close ball games against similar opponents the Lady Waves have had close match-ups with. A 10-point loss to Hancock County, a 2-point loss to Grayson County, and a 9-point loss to Breckinridge County at least showed on paper that the Lady Suns were more than capable of giving the Lady Waves a tough ball game.

Greenwaves fall short to Apollo

After a week full of snow days, the Meade County Greenwaves found themselves back on the hardwood Friday taking on Owensboro Apollo. At 15-7, Apollo came in ranked #2 in the region according to the Courier-Journal Litkenhous Rankings, and Meade County was ranked #4 in the same polls. On paper, it looked to be a great match-up of two successful high school teams, and it pitted two of the region’s best players in Meade County’s Nick Stinnett and Apollo’s Tyler Brown.
