Citizen input sought on revised comprehensive plan March 20
Citizen input is sought on the county’s revised proposed comprehensive plan during the March 20 meeting of the Meade County Planning Commission.
The session starts at 7 p.m. in the courtroom of the Meade County Courthouse.
Members of the steering committee, planning commission and HNTB, the Louisville firm the county contracted with to revise the plan, have worked the past several months on the document.
During the process, two public sessions were held soliciting input, one at the Flaherty Elementary and another at Payneville Elementary.
The revised document is expected to have the revisions discussed during a March 6 session, whereby the county won’t endorse a buffer zone designation for one mile around Fort Knox.
County officials rejected overtures from Fort Knox to include the buffer zone, and recommended removing it from the plan.
The county’s comprehensive plan is a guide to the area’s future growth and development.
