Water . . .
falls and woes

The short children’s rhyme “rain, rain, go away, come again another day” didn’t work well in Meade County over the weekend. According to officials at the National Weather Service in Louisville, between three and four inches of rain fell March 3 and 4, causing flooding damage around a house in Midway and bringing waterfalls, such as this one along U.S. 31W near Muldraugh, to life. Doe Run flooded the area typically used for weddings, and access on Scott Hill Road was hampered by high water. Weather officials report temperatures will return to highs of 69 degrees Wednesday with a 30 percent chance of showers. Thursday’s temperatures are expected to top out at 71.
