Searching for a new job? Want a change in lifestyle?

You need not travel to Fort Knox to seek those BRAC positions, but instead make tracks to the Meade County Courthouse.

County officials are taking applications for the four positions through 4 p.m. May 6. Resumes and letters of interest can be submitted to county Judge Executive Harry Craycroft at the courthouse.

Applications are being accepted for two vacancies in the planning and zoning department, the director and an office secretary; a substitute custodian, who will be on-call to assist when the regular person goes on vacation or is sick and the assistant animal control officer, who was fired by Fiscal Court last week for violation of county policies.

The position of code enforcement officer is still vacant, but applications have already been accepted.

Although not part of this hiring frenzy, two police officers also resigned recently to seek full-time employment with the city of Muldraugh.

Sheriff Butch Kerrick said those positions were filled internally.
