Surfing the Internet, organizing data in spread sheets, using a computer to write letters, essays and reports. These are all skills grade school students learn. Now their parents and grandparents are learning those same skills.

Meade County Planning and Zoning – dead in the water?

“After the first of the month, we’re dead in the water,” said Allen Flaherty, vice chair of the Meade County Planning and Zoning Commission, near the conclusion of the April 17 regular meeting.

Flaherty’s remarks were sparked by the resignation of Administrator Barbara Campbell, her assistant, Dianna Fackler, and Commissioner Faye Basham. These resignations followed shortly after Fiscal Court fired code enforcement officer C.H. Schaffner late last year.

‘Shake, rattle and roll . . .’
Early morning tremor catches county residents unaware

There was a ‘whole lot of shaking’ going on, not only in Meade County April 18, but elsewhere in Kentucky and nationally.

From Campbellsville to Louisville and from Detroit to Atlanta, Ga., residents were awakened at 4:37 a.m. by an earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale.

Fence and CD okayed on 5-1 Muldraugh council ballot

Fencing for an impound lot behind the Muldraugh City Hall took another step forward April 14.

Council members approved the expenditure of $7,768 for fencing with white vinyl strips on a 5-1 vote, with Councilmember Brenda Carlberg casting the dissenting vote. Councilmember John Haynes was absent.
