Battletown Blowout 2009

Battletown Community Park held its annual Battletown Blowout June 27. Due to hot and humid temperatures, attendance was down. Those who braved the heat enjoyed an auction with many items auctioned off by Bill Pipes; an archery shoot, hosted by Brandenburg Hunting and Fishing; Game Krazy Mobile Video Van; a casting contest; lots of good food – including that old favorite, funnel cake; face painting; and karaoke provided by Curtis Spence, Pittsburgh, Penn., and his Karaokefun Entertainment. The Tornado Wrestling Organization presented “Day of Champions,” and Meade County High School wrestling coach Bob Davis’ wrestling team never looked cuter as they did when they showed the crowd their “feminine” side! Several guys 
participated in the hairy leg contest and Ricky Arms, Brandenburg, took the prize. At dusk, Melrose Pyrotechnics out of Louisville, awed spectators with a beautiful fireworks display. Battletown Volunteer Fire Department was onhand to provide fire support if needed. Battletown Community Park is in dire need of volunteers.
