New principal but the same focus at Stuart Pepper Middle School

Students entering Stuart Pepper Middle School in the fall will be greeted by new principal Chad Butler.

That’s because the former principal, Kellianne Wilson, was promoted at the end of the school year to take a position in the board’s central office.

Longtime school district staff member prepares to move on

“It’s not a retirement, it’s a redirection in your life.”

That’s what Meade County Public Schools Board of Education President Dr. John Inman told Peggy Darnall after the June 9 board meeting.

But Darnall, the district’s coordinator for student services, is feeling bittersweet about her retirement, with the last “official day” planned for June 30.

All-Area Team selected

In an article released June 19, in the News Enterprise, it was announced Tiffany Brown – shown above winning the 300-meter hurdles at the Region 3 Track meet – was voted by the local area track and field coaches as Sophomore of the Year. Coaches from Fort Knox, Elizabethtown, Hardin, Meade, and LaRue counties voted Brown over North Hardin’s Halie Holloway.
