Meade County High School ag teacher is ‘outstanding’ in his field
There’s one thing you can say about Meade County High School ag teacher Marc Adams.
He certainly doesn’t let grass – or crops – grow under his feet.
For his efforts, he was recognized as the 2009 state winner of the Outstanding Young Member Award given by the National Association of Agricultural Educators.

State honors Meade County farmer with FFA Star Farmer award
A member of the Meade County FFA chapter, Alex Richardson, is following in his father’s (Homer Richardson’s) footsteps.
However, Alex hopes his walk takes him farther than his father did, when Homer won the state Star Farmer award in 1971.
Richardson, a 2009 graduate of Meade County High School, received a $250 cash award – provided by the National FFA Foundation – to recognize his achievement in production agriculture and active FFA involvement.

Home Guard pushes back Morgan’s Raiders
Members of the local Home Guard challenged the cavalry contingent of John Hunt Morgan July 12, during the annual Civil War re-enactment at Hayswood Nature Reserve near Corydon, Ind. The event also featured a raid in the downtown area, a military ball and several living history demonstrations.
