Road unkind to Greenwaves

Going on the road is never easy. Going on the road to face the number 8 ranked team in the State (Anderson County, Aug 28) and follow that road trip with a game against the number 4 ranked team in state (John Hardin, Sep 4) and you have double trouble. These teams deserve their ranking, and have a good chance to face each other in the post season for the State Championship.

Meade lost the coin toss, and John Hardin elected to receive. They started their series on their own 11 yard line and on third and three they ran for the end zone. Only Tommy Arnold’s speed kept points off the board.

Lady Waves continue hot streak

A great start for a team is usually a result of great individual work ethic and team unity. That, along with some heads-up play from senior striker Paige Long and junior striker Kristin Benton, kept the Meade County High School girls’ soccer team unbeaten Sept. 2.

“We certainly hope to keep it up. We want to keep our momentum, but with a long Labor Day break, that may be difficult,” Shook said. “But we’re hoping we can keep our momentum and focus.”
