Westpoint honors James Taylor Aikin


Master Sgt. (Ret.) James Taylor Aikin – known as Ted around the city of West Point – might have survived the Bataan Death March in 1942.

But now Ted has another challenge to overcome – where to put the plaques he received from well-wishers during Veterans Day ceremonies Nov. 11.

Muldraugh faces $25,000 a day fine

Muldraugh Mayor Danny Tate had warned city officials earlier if they didn’t start the process of educating citizens on storm water rules, the state would issue a daily fine.

Fines for every day of noncompliance are up to $25,000 per day, per violation.
