Letter to the Editor

To the Messenger:

This is in response to the article in The Meade County Messenger dated Dec. 2, 2009, “Muldraugh selects storm water engineer.

As we know this storm water MS4 is a mandated requirement by the federal government. The city of Muldraugh has known this for years, however Mayor Tate only got serious about implementing a program after the city was facing $25,000 a day fine per violation.

To the Messenger:

This is in response to the “name withheld” letter last week regarding the gate at the east end of Buttermilk Falls Road. It seems that it is inappropriate to park in front of any gate blocking a roadway whether it has a sign on it or not. For the writer’s information, this road provides access to the sewage treatment plant, three privately-owned parcels, as well as one owned by the City of Brandenburg and one owned by the Industrial Park. It is clear therefore that access to these properties at anytime must be assured.

Letters should be 300 words or less and concern an issue of public interest. Longer letters MAY be run at the discretion of the editorial staff or may be edited to fit.

They must be typed or printed legibly. The Messenger limits the frequency of Letters to the Editor to one per person within a 30-day period.

Letters may not contain slanderous remarks and all letters are printed at the discretion of the editor.

The writer's name, address and telephone number must be included.
We will, however, withhold the writer's name on request. A file of all letters to the editor will be kept for public inspection at the Messenger.
