Meade County mourns three lives

Ice-slickened roads and the first measurable snowfall of the season claimed the lives of two children and one adult in two separate accidents Dec. 7.

The first accident occurred on Hwy. 144, between Payneville and Rhodelia.

It was a road that was traveled countless times by the driver – transporting her children back and forth to school and herself to work.

County, Planning and Zoning sued,
zoning change challenged in lawsuit

The Meade County Fiscal Court and the Planning and Zoning Commission are being sued in a civil action by David Bell for their approval of rezoning that allows the Meade County Quarry, LLC to expand mining operations on James Collin’s land at 2595 Big Bend Road in Battletown.
