JANE MARLOW WILLIS

A memorial service has been set for Jane Marlow Willis, 68, Brandenburg, who died Feb. 17, 2010. She was born March 8, 1942, the only child of James Mercer Willis and Thelma Marlow Willis. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. April 11, in the sanctuary of the Brandenburg United Methodist Church. The memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Co-officiating the service will be the retired Rev. Billy Marcum and the Rev. Russell East.


Would-be chemist moves on to national competition

The Kentucky 2010 “You Be The Chemist” state level competition was held in Owensboro in the Owensboro Museum of Science and History March 19.

Sherry Zetelski remembered at Relay luncheon

On March 19, residents of the Doe Valley community gathered at the home of Glenna Powell for a luncheon in memory of their late friend and neighbor, Sherry Zetelski. Powell was emotional as she spoke about Sherry. “She was just a real trooper,” she said. “A very special, caring and loving lady that we all fondly remember. Always a smile on her face.”

Reading achievement is rewarded

Lily Smith shows off her certificate after completing the “50 Books to Read in Kindergarten” challenge. Children who read or listen to all 50 books on the library’s list win a goodie bag of prizes and have their picture hung on the Wall of Champions.
