“Womanless Wedding” benefits good cause Bride Lamartha (Lamar) Jones wed groom Mammo Graham (Mike Wise) in a “womanless wedding” ceremony April 29. A standing-room-only crowd filled the Farm Bureau building to watch an all male cast of characters participate in the nuptials. The event was produced by Meade County EMS, “Code Pink, Response for a Cure” Relay for Life team, and raised well over $3,600 to fight cancer. Led by captain Dawn Wise, the team includes Jeannie Wise, Karen Tanguay, Rebecca Miller, Kerry Vowels, Sandy Thompson, Heather Thompson, Anne Boiling and Patty Reesor. Two deficiencies revealed in water audit An audit with two significant deficiencies – one in the federal awards area and the other in the financial statements – was adopted by the Meade County Water District April 27, without comment. The audit was for the year ending Dec. 31, 2009.

Those living south of Payneville and into Breckinridge County got about 4.76 inches, Dodson said.
