Meade County Relay for Life 2010

The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life was held May 8, at the Meade County Fairgrounds. In sharp contrast to last year’s hot and humid weather, this year the weather was cold and windy. The event was originally scheduled for May 8-9, but when temperatures began to plummet into the high 30s, it was ended after the luminaria ceremony on the evening of May 8.

Lawsuit against county settled quietly, amount to remain unknown

A settlement has been reached in a long-standing lawsuit against the Meade County Fiscal Court and Judge Executive Harry Craycroft. The lawsuit was filed by former county employee, Larry Hardesty, for wrongful termination stemming back to his dismissal in 2007.

The 33rd Annual Wave Revue “Best of Broadway”

A student-run, student-choreographed production played before capacity audiences Mother’s Day weekend as 29 seniors led the Wave Revue cast in the 33rd annual “Best of Broadway.” Songs from “The Lion King,” “Fame” and “Little Shop of Horrors,” among others were featured during the three performances, which were the last for retiring choral director Bryan Nichols and assistant director Mary “Gibbie” Horsley. Nichols is pursuing a doctorate degree from a Washington state university and Horsley will spend more time with her family.
