Accused murderer arraigned in Louisville

The man accused of murdering 53-year-old Meade County resident, Danny Embry, was arraigned in a Jefferson County courtroom Sept. 8. Jeffrey Lay faced nine charges in Louisville, where he is accused of shooting his own brother in the face.

Pausing to remember . . . County residents honor 9/11 victims in poignant ceremony

Firefighters, police officers, citizens and elected officials gathered at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 11 – nine years after the World Trade Center and other locations were struck – to honor their comrades in arms and others who died in vain while trying to save their friends and co-workers.

Lifeline’s first-ever Harvest Jam

Several heavy metal Christian bands participated in the first-ever Harvest Jam, held Sept. 11, at the Meade County Fairgrounds. Concerts by “Adelaide,” “Beyond the Shore,” “Empty Lies the Tomb,” “Hope Kills Fear,” “Pillar of Fire,” “Prisoners of Hope,” “To Bless Just One,” and “Inhale, Exhale,” entertained a crowd of mainly young people who danced and sang along with the bands.
