Opening day for the gala event is Nov. 27 and the Christmas by the River committee has been working hard to ensure the daylong festival on the Ohio River is a success. Those interested in any aspect of the event – from entertaining and vending to volunteering your time to make it a success – should call Amy at Brandenburg City Hall. The number is (270) 422-4981. The day opens at noon with craft vendors, food vendors and entertainment in place until 6 p.m. The actual light-up and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus are planned to start at 6 p.m.
