Public invited to county inaugural
ceremonies Dec. 30

Meade County residents are invited to take part in gala inuaguration ceremonies, honoring all new officeholders. The event will take place at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 30, in the auditorium of the Meade County High School.
“We are going to have all of the people who won elections, from the county sheriff department to the city officials and any other type of offices,” said incoming Judge Executive Gerry Lynn. “The public is cordially invited to attend the ceremony and there will be refreshments served in the lobby after the event,” he said. Performing the swearing-in will be judges Bruce Butler and Robert Miller. Lynn said he expects upward of 300 people to attend the event. The seating capacity of the auditorium is 600– more than capable of hosting the event. The ceremonies will conclude with Lynn offering some closing remarks, which he said will also “be short and sweet.”
