Riverfront project – one hurdle crossed, more to go

The Riverfront development project proposed by 4th District Magistrate Theresa Padgett has passed through the first phase of a grant process which began with a preliminary application submitted for review by the Lincoln Trail Area Development District (LTADD). Meade County Fire Protection District still searching

Since Fiscal Court voted down the decision to sell them the old state garage site, MCFPD chairman Mike Curl, trustees John Abadie, Jim Anthony, Martin Bosemer, Terry Carter, Keith Madison, Bruno Ilario and Chief Larry Naser began the Oct. 17 meeting in a nearly hour-long closed session to discuss procurement of property for a new fire station in the Brandenburg city area. Meade County Water District welcomes new board member

Water District Board Chairman Doug Cornett opened the Oct. 20 board meeting with a warm welcome to the newly appointed board member Keith Boothe before getting down to business. Boothe replaced the previous board chairman, Joe Bartley, who is now general manager of the water district.

Meade County ranks high in state’s child support collections

As contracting attorney for child support and paternity matters, County Attorney Darren Sipes is responsible for ensuring the children of Meade County receive the child support they are, by law, entitled to receive. It goes without saying child support is notoriously difficult to collect, yet Meade County’s Child Support Office has earned itself some very, very respectable numbers during the second and third quarters of 2005.

Preregister for Kentucky Circuit Court Clerk exam by Nov. 1

FRANKFORT – The qualifying exam for the 2006 elections for the office of circuit court clerk will be administered by the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC ) on Dec. 3 at the Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero St., Frankfort. This is the only date and location for the exam.
