According to Meade County Sheriff Clifford L. Wise the 2005 Property Tax Bills have been mailed. This year’s real and tangible personal property collections total $8,634,053.24. This represents approximately an 11-percent increase from the 2004 total of $7.8 million. Click Here For Full Story


Meade County now has certified animal control officer

What type of training do our elected county officials receive?

When an elected county official is sworn into office, he or she may begin office with the express desire to make our county a better place in which to live yet possess little or no applicable training for the job. That’s where the “Elected County Officials Training Program” kicks in. Kentucky’s training incentive program for elected county officials began with the enactment of House Bill 810, effective in January 1999. The program offers county judge executives, fiscal court members, county clerks, sheriffs and jailers an annual financial incentive to participate in continuing training relevant to their official duties.

MCFPD considering new property

Meade County Fire Protection District board met Thursday, Oct. 27, in a special called meeting with the single focus to discuss property acquisition. In a 45-minute closed session, the quorum of John Abadie, Keith Madison, Jim Anthony, Bruno Ilario and chaired by Mike Curl discussed new options including David Pace’s proposal. More environmental studies planned in connection with ethanol plant

The Meade County Conservation District Board of Supervisors met for its regular monthly meeting on Oct. 24. Present were John Bruington, Joe Barger, Jim Scott, Jack King, Henry Pike, Nathan Beavin, and Fred L. Sipes.
