Buck Grove Baptist missionaries do good works in Brazil

On July 21, 14 people from Buck Grove Baptist Church embarked on a mission trip to Salvador, Brazil. The tired but happy group returned home on July 30, having made a slice of our world a better place in which to live.

Local student attends NYLF on medicine
Allie Mattingly, a junior at Meade County High School, spent 10 days this summer in Arizona attending a National Youth Leadership Forum on medicine along with 300 students from across the nation, including four from Kentucky.

Meade County HOSA students win national competition
Students representing Meade County Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) competed at the 2006 National HOSA Conference in Anaheim, Calif., June 20-25. To qualify to attend the conference, students must place 1st, 2nd or 3rd at the state level in their competitive event.

Local woman shares medical challenge in hopes of alerting others
Headaches – we all get them from time to time and don’t usually think too much about them other than finding some medication to rid ourselves of the pain. And so it was for Shannon Beasley-Cox when she first began to experience a series of headaches that just wouldn’t go away. Little did she know at the time that the headaches were cause for serious concern.
