LEAH D. MEDLEY

Leah D. Medley recently graduated Cum Laude from Belmont University, Nashville, Tenn., with a bachelor of business administration degree with a double major in accounting and music business. This fall she will pursue a master’s in accounting and will serve as president of Beta Alpha Psi, Belmont Chapter, which is a nationally recognized accounting honorary fraternity. In addition, she is employed by Curb Records, the largest independent country and Christian record label in Nashville.

Christian Women’s Club meets

The Christian Women’s Club met Aug. 14 for their monthly luncheon and enjoyed the singing of Rachel Chenault. Cathy Williamson from the Better Business Bureau brought a presentation about identity theft and how we should guard our personal information. We should use a shredder for anything we receive that has our personal information on it. She also warned about businesses that come to our home trying to sell us what they have left over from another job. Check with the BBB to see if a business is registered and licensed before having any work done.

WKU spring 2006 dean’s and president’s list

Western Kentucky University has announced the students named to the dean’s and president’s list for the spring 2006 semester. Students making the dean’s list have a grade point average of 3.4 to 3.79 in a 4.0 scale. Students on the president’s list have GPAs of 3.8 to 4.0 and are indicated by an asterisk (*). To be eligible for either list, students must have at least 12 hours of coursework that semester.
