Meade defeats Louisville Butler in first game, 46-39

Despite suffering through several early turnovers, the Meade County Greenwave basketball team came out victorious in its first game of the season at Louisville Butler Nov. 28, defeating the Bears 46-39.

Bowling scores and averages up, league membership down

Back in 1969, when I first started bowling here in Brandenburg, the leagues were always full and several leagues had a waiting list to join. In the ‘70s and ‘80s high averages for the men were in the 170-180 ranges and a 600-650 series would usually lead the league. We still have full leagues on three nights, but struggle to keep them full and even to get leagues started on other nights. Seems like there are always other events or interest to keep the bowlers away.
