Profile on Longevity – Elizabeth Stith

Elizabeth Enfield Stith was born May 8, 1919, the middle child of Thomas E. Stith and Dona Miller Stith. Thomas was a farmer and Dona was a housekeeper. Elizabeth had two siblings – older brother Harold and younger sister Helen.

Australians give Greenwaves glimpse of the world ‘down under’

According to Greenwave head coach Jerry Garris, when the coaches for the Wanneroo Wolves, an Australian touring team, were planning their USA tour, Wanneroo head coach Van Kailis knew he didn’t care where he played – as long as his Wolves played at Meade County.

Meade County SkillsUSA chapter collects canned goods for local families

The Meade County SkillsUSA chapter at the Meade County Area Technology Center collected canned goods during the month of November to help less fortunate individuals and families in Meade County.

Two Area Technology Center seniors receive scholarships

On Nov. 4, 2006, 13 seniors from the Meade County Area Technology Center’s air conditioning and refrigeration program traveled to Lima, Ohio, to compete against other students from Kentucky and 10 surrounding states for a scholarship to the University of Northwestern Ohio. The University of Northwestern Ohio awards only three scholarships a year determined by the results of a written test given each November. This year, Meade County Area Technology Center students took first and third place at the annual event.
