Letter to the Editor

To the Messenger:

In October 2005 when I was in a local store, I heard over the intercom WMMG conducting an interview concerning MCMAC (Meade County Museum & Arts Council). In the interview the MCMAC member advertised that memorial bricks, like the ones that have been laid near the flagpole downtown in the riverside park, could be purchased. The member said that the bricks would make nice Christmas gifts.

Who’s minding the store?
– And other points to ponder

It’s that time of year again –the time of year when the circumstances of starved, abused, and neglected horses notoriously come to light in Meade County. Just a couple weeks ago, two horses were removed from their owner and taken into protective custody, with efforts made to save them before it is too late. One of these horses was already too far gone and needed to be put down. Last I heard, the other horse was regaining the spark in its eyes and would most likely pull through.

Letters should be 300 words or less and concern an issue of public interest. Longer letters MAY be run at the discretion of the editorial staff or may be edited to fit.

They must be typed or printed legibly. The Messenger limits the frequency of Letters to the Editor to one per person within a 30-day period.

Letters may not contain slanderous remarks and all letters are printed at the discretion of the editor.

The writer's name, address and telephone number must be included.
We will, however, withhold the writer's name on request. A file of all letters to the editor will be kept for public inspection at the Messenger.

Submit words of thanks as paid advertisements.
