Meade County Education and Career Center in Brandenburg is now offering a program called Fast Track GED, which is a program designed for people who need tutoring assistance in specific areas in preparation for taking the GED test.

March declared Severe Storms Preparedness Month

FRANKFORT – In observation of the traditional severe weather awareness campaign, Kentucky recognizes March as “Severe Storms Preparedness Month” across the commonwealth of Kentucky. The Kentucky Division of Emergency Management, the Kentucky Weather Preparedness Committee, along with the National Weather Service offices that serve the state of Kentucky, have designated this month as a time for severe weather preparedness.

Girl Scout cookies – a taste of home

“There’s nothing more American than getting a Girl Scout cookie while being far from home,” said Larry Green. “If nothing else, it brightens the moment.” There will be a lot of bright moments for seven units based at Fort Knox and currently deployed to Iraq when 116 cases of Girl Scout cookies are shipped to their units.
