Otter Creek Park closes as part of Louisville cuts

Louisville’s budget problems are filtering down to Meade County, effective Dec. 14.

Louisville Metro Park spokesperson Jason Cissell confirmed Dec. 1 Otter Creek Metropark, located off Hwy. 1638 near Muldraugh, is closing. A reopening date was uncertain.

Despite Court vote confusion, rezoning wins approval

During a special-called Nov. 24 meeting, members of the Meade County Fiscal Court overturned a recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission, clearing the way for a modular home.

The rezoning ends a long period when Court and Planning and Zoning Commission bandied the topic back and forth.

During an earlier Court meeting, members tabled action on the item until they had time to review the parcel.

Legislators differ on future plans and accomplishments

LEXINGTON – It would be easier – and quicker – to report what state legislators agreed on during the 34th annual Kentucky Association of Counties conference here, than what they disagreed on.

The agreement list is shorter.

First to the rostrum Nov. 19 was state Sen. Damon Thayer, chairman of the Senate committee on state and local government.
