Investigation continues on June 8 fire truck accident

It must have been divine intervention.

Either that or firefighters affiliated with the Meade County Fire Protection District have a special connection with the “man” upstairs.

“We are very lucky none of our firefighters died,” MCFPD Chief Larry Naser said. “They were all in their protective gear and wearing seat belts.”

Magistrates seek motion to direct quarry rezoning

After listening to Battletown resident Brenda Brown for two consecutive meetings, members of the Meade County Fiscal Court sought to acquire some additional tax receipts.

The receipts would arrive if the operators of the Meade County Quarry could achieve the necessary rezoning to crush rock on-site. The current zoning only allows blasting.

County HVAC bid approved without controversy by Fiscal Court

Meade County Judge Executive Harry Craycroft recommended Johnson Controls as the vendor for the courthouse’s heating/ventilation and air conditioning systems.

And members of the Fiscal Court, with Magistrate Herbie Chism absent, unanimously approved his recommendation at the June 9 meeting.
