Golfer addresses capacity crowd at wintry MAC gala

Be on the look out for two young up-and-coming golfers, PGA pro Kenny Perry said, in response to an audience question Feb. 9.

Perry offered these comments and more during the first annual MAC Matters Gala, held at the Farm Bureau Community Building. The crowd, estimated at 325 participants, also enjoyed a catered dinner, while raising funds for the proposed Meade Activity Center.

City council faces library land decision

Meade County Public Library (MCPL) officials and the Brandenburg City Council agree that combining forces, or in this case land, for the new library project is a win-win situation. A recent council meeting revealed, however, that questions remain as to how best accomplish the community project.

KY 313 road project moves ahead;
over $1 million in land purchased

A listing of deeds recently transferred in Meade County include 12 to the Transportation Cabinet, Department of Highways, for the KY 313 road extension project and one from Arch Chemicals for the KY 933 project. The transfers represent over $1.25 million in property acquisitions for the projects.
