Looking Back: 45 Years Since the Tornado

It was a devastating event in the history of Brandenburg. On April 03, 1974, a super tornado ripped through downtown Brandenburg, leaving much of Main street decimated. Historic buildings were left as nothing but rubble following the twister, leaving businesses and homes as little but mangled detritus in its wake. 31 lives were lost that fateful day in Brandenburg alone, and another 46 were killed in surrounding areas of Kentucky and Indiana.
