Carrier pigeon spotted in Brandenubrg

We are able to send and receive messages from around the world instantly. However, it wasn’t that long ago that sending a message over a great distance, especially one with urgency or importance, presented quite a problem. How were the results of the first Olympics spread, how were results of great battles shared with other generals? They didn’t use Twitter, but their tool may have tweeted. They used pigeons.
