Republicans fall short of sweep, governor calls for recanvass

This past Tuesday, voters from all across the bluegrass took to the voting booths to decide who would reside in the governor’s mansion for the next four years along with five other high-ranking executive branch offices. By the close of the polls, however, almost 60 percent of Meade County voters had failed to exercise their constitutional right. The state turnout was not much better, with over 2 million of Kentucky’s 3,451,537 registered voters not showing up at the ballot box on election day.
