Farmers lawyer up, pose questions to Fiscal Court

The Meade County Fiscal Court’s meeting last Tuesday came to order in front of a courtroom packed with citizens — to the point some of them had to stand along the back wall. Farmers from Meade and surrounding counties had descended upon the courthouse to voice their grievances with the Fiscal Court in regards to the deal that had been made for Nucor to build a steel mill at the riverport, which had also led to Consolidated Grain and Barge’s lease to operate a grain facility at the same port to be canceled.
