Soup for the Super Bowl

In preparation for Super Bowl LIV two local churches decided to hold a friendly competition. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 319 Oaklawn Road in Brandenburg and Christ Episcopal Church at 206 West Poplar in Elizabethtown wanted to see which congregation could bring in the most cans of soup on Sunday, February 2—just before the Super Bowl.
Shortly after the first of the year the soup collection coordinator Midge Thomas notified the congregation at Holy Trinity about the need to collect cans of soup at home and bring them to the church on February 2. Members were excited about the friendly competition, and that spurred both congregations to gather lots of cans of soup.
