Greenwaves ‘do it for JB’ in 47-36 win over Apollo
“Do it for JB.” The Greenwaves’ rallying cry before their matchup with Owensboro Apollo on Friday night was an inspirational tribute to fallen senior forward Jordan Benock, who partially tore his ACL in Tuesday’s game with Grayson County, ending his senior season early. With the team in desperate need of a morale boost, Jordan’s brother, junior Riley Benock, and the rest of the Greenwave basketball team (15-7, 8-1 3rd Region) did indeed “do it for JB,” climbing their way to a triumphant 47-36 win over the Eagles.

Whelan’s 31 points lift Meade over Grayson, 56-29
It was obvious that after senior Jordan Benock left Meade County’s matchup with Grayson County due to injury on Feb. 14, the Greenwaves had to have someone step up. Luckily, guard Adrian Whelan was there to show his teammates some love in the Valentine’s Day contest as the senior netted 31 of the team’s 56 points in their 56-29 victory over the Tigers.
