Matthew Fackler, an 8th-grader at Stuart Pepper Middle School and a varsity member of the Greenwave cross country team, competed at the Kentucky State AAU Cross Country Championships.

Greenwave Day at Meade County High School

The Meade County High School boys’ basketball team hosted their annual Saturday with the Greenwave Nov. 18. Seven elementary school teams opened the day playing each other and were followed by the SPMS 7th- and 8th-grade teams who scrimmaged Gallatin County.

Greenwaves’ playoff run ends
Meade falls to Ryle in Class 4-A quarterfinal

It was apparent to the Greenwave Nation early Friday night that another playoff upset was not meant to be for the Meade County football team (7-6).

Lady Waves celebrate their soccer season

On Nov. 14 the Lady Wave Soccer team held its annual post season soccer banquet.

Made up of six seniors, three juniors, five sophomores, and 11 freshmen, the varsity team came away with a 10-6-2 record and a 5-3-1 record in district play.

Remembering the Greenwave soccer season

On Nov. 16 the Meade County boys’ soccer team held their annual end of the season banquet.

This year’s varsity team was complemented by nine seniors, six juniors, three sophomores, and one freshman, which posted a 13-8-2 record this season after being runner up in the 10th District Tournament.

A day with the Greenwaves

This past Friday, I received the opportunity to follow the Meade County High School football team as they made their trip to Ryle High School. When I was offered the chance, I immediately took it because I was curious as to what preparation went into a big-time football game, let alone a regional final game.

Race by the River

Nov. 9 was a beautiful day to run a race! As warm weather interrupted the cool spell that was lingering in Meade County, all of the area elementary cross country teams took advantage coming together to race in the cross country championship, held by the boat docks in Brandenburg. More than 200 runners tightened their shoelaces and stretched their legs to see if they could run the scenic river course with their fastest time of the year.

Lady Waves honored with volleyball banquet

The Lady Wave volleyball team held their annual banquet in the high school cafeteria Nov. 13. After everyone enjoyed a dinner provided by the coaches, players and students, head coach Chad Butler began the ceremonies. Butler first discussed the freshman team, who finished with a 15-1 record. The 15 wins set a new record for victories by a freshmen group at Meade County.
