Wingler Sets New MCHS Record
The good news for Frederick Fraize High School’s Lady Aces is that Jan 6 would be the last time they have to face the high-powered offense of the Meade County High School’s Ladywave basketball team this season. For the Fredrick Fraize to actually put a varsity squad on the floor to compete is a challenge in itself due to only having about 125 total students in the high school to choose from, which means that their team competes mostly comprised of underclassmen with seventh and eighth graders mixed in. The one thing that is traditional with this group of young ladies is their grit, determination, attitude and especially their heart. In the face of overwhelming talent against them, they never lose their passion for playing, no matter what the score, and in this game was another good example of their sportsmanship and enthusiasm for the game. Even when it became obvious that Meade was an overwhelming opponent that they knew they had now-way of stopping, they played hard throughout the entire game, never getting down, with an obvious love for the game. Meade jumped out in the first half to a 31-point lead by the half and would cruise to an easy win over the Lady Aces by a score of 85-21.
