Fire district ends investigation into June 8 tanker accident
Six new policies and procedures are being implemented by the Meade County Fire Protection District, following the June 8 tanker accident.
In addition, district members, during a special-called June 29 meeting, agreed to reinforce three existing policies presently in place. Trustee Bruno Ilario was absent.
The accident resulted in six firefighters being airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital. All were released either that evening or the next day and have returned to their jobs.

New location and rain doesn’t hamper Threshing Days
A new location brought unfavorable weather, but that didn’t stop participants, spectators and others from enjoying the 17th annual Lincoln Trail Antique Power of the Past Threshing Days and Antique Power Show.
Club President Edd Pike said this was the first time rain has fallen on the show in 15 years, so he thought that was a pretty successful run.
The show – held at the Meade County Fairgrounds due to the closure earlier of Otter Creek Park – expects to return to the same spot next year.
