Greenwaves roll past Nelson County, secure playoff berth
Cannady accounts for all five touchdowns in 35-7 win

The seniors of the Meade County football team (4-5) knew a big win over Nelson County (3-6) on Friday night at Hamilton Field was crucial for a trip to postseason play this year.

Lady Wave volleyball’s impressive season ends in region semifinal

The Meade County volleyball team’s (27-7) season came to a close Oct. 18 as the Lady Waves fell in the semifinals of the 3rd Region Tournament to host Owensboro Catholic (25-12, 25-14).

DTW hosts cross country meet

On Oct. 10, David T. Wilson Elementary School hosted a cross country meet at Brandenburg’s riverfront park. The course took them through the parking lot near Flippin’s Run, along the outer edge of the soccer fields and along the riverwalk from the bottom of Main Street, across the foot bridge, up the old boat ramp and back to the parking lot and the finish line.

Meade County Saddle Club opens new arena

Meade County Saddle Club recently completed an arena on Fackler Road. The arena is 300 feet long by 110 feet wide, large enough for all events.

Local bass anglers net new boats in national tournament

RADCLIFF – Radcliff’s Gold City 3 fishing circuit, a division of Midwest Sportsman, sent 28 two-man teams to MidWest three-day national Team Classic on Kentucky/Barkley Lakes Oct. 4-6. To qualify for this event, two anglers paired up as teams and competed in a series of divisional tournaments throughout mid- America. The top 30 percent of each division then advanced to the national classic.
