Chilly Christmas by the River throngs welcome Santa

Amidst the loud sirens and bright lights of the Meade County Fire Protection District and the Brandenburg City Police, Santa and Mrs. Claus and their elf were welcomed in royal style Nov. 27 during the annual Christmas by the River festivities. Santa and his companions were brought to the gazebo in a small toy train, which was one of several new items welcoming the throngs of people throughout the day.

Brandenburg stone returning home?

With the advent of a new library under construction off Old Ekron Road, officials are expected to make overtures to Charlestown, Ind., library officials for the return of a sentimental treasure – the Brandenburg Stone.

Mark Brown named acting labor secretary

Gov. Steve Beshear announced last week the retirement of Kentucky Secretary of Labor J.R. Gray. Secretary Gray has decided to return to his hometown of Benton, to spend more time with his family.

Radcliff veteran’s cemetery to
participate in wreath-laying program

All four of Kentucky’s State Veterans cemeteries will participate in the national Wreaths Across America ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 11. Members of the public are invited to join in a national ceremony that shows gratitude for the past, current, and forthcoming sacrifices our veterans and their families make for our nation.
