Board of Education sets tax rates

The Meade County Board of Education held a special called meeting Sept. 27 at noon for the purpose of setting property tax rates for real property and personal property. School board members John Inman, Belinda Cross, Eugene Sheeran and Greg Beavin were in attendance.

Messenger welcomes new reporter Joseph Redmon

Joseph (Joe) Redmon has joined the Meade County Messenger as a staff reporter.


Business partnership forged between the Messenger and Meade County High School

When the 2006-2007 school year began, a partnership between the Meade County Messenger and the business department at Meade County High School also began. The Messenger was looking for someone to design and print window clings to distribute to its Newspaper in Education sponsors as a way of acknowledging their support of a valuable program. And the business department was looking for ways to bring real-world experience into the classroom. It was a match made in educational heaven.


PINS holds 5th Annual Pet Festival

Approximately 200 people attended the Fifth Annual Pets In Need Society Pet Festival and Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, Sept. 16 at Brandenburg City Park down by the Ohio River.


Meade County Farm Bureau holds annual meeting

The Meade County Farm Bureau held its annual meeting Sept. 26 at the Farm Bureau Community Building. Approximately 100 members were present. Special guests in attendance were Rep. Gerry Lynn and Sen. Carroll Gibson.


Meade County Conservation District to develop Web site

The Meade County Conservation District board of supervisors held its monthly meeting Sept. 25.
